Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar today (February 13) ended the wait of his millions of fans by announcing the release date of his Hindi movie “Sachin: A Billion Dreams”.
Ever since the teaser of the biopic was out on April 14 last year, fans have been eagerly waiting for the film to be released. Even the posters of the film went viral within several hours of its release, such is the craze of the God of Cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar himself took to his Twitter account and gave to good news to his fans writing, “The answer to the question that everyone’s asking me is here. Mark your calendars and save the date. @SachinTheFilm releases 26.05.17”
Tendulkar’s Sachin: A Billion Dreams will the third movie based on an Indian cricketer after ‘Azhar’ and ‘MS Dhoni – the untold story’.
The movie is directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures. The music has been played by AR Rahman.
This biopic marks the debut of Sachin as an actor. Talking about his experience at an event, the legendary cricketer said last year, “For so many years, I did whatever I wanted to do and the camera captured that. Suddenly I was asked to do particular things and then the camera captured that, so it was a bit different for me. Believe me, the first option was better… Acting is not something that I dreamt of. Without any doubt, acting was more challenging than playing cricket. I enjoyed playing more.” Tendulkar played 200 Test matches before retiring in November, 2013..
Along with the announcement of the film’s release date, a new poster was also shared on social media. Earlier, a teaser was also launched by the makers of the film. Apart from his fans, even actors are extremely excited about the film.
The film is hitting the screens on May 26 of this year!
