Delayed Bollywood Films And Their Fate

Bollywood has lately seen a few delayed releases. In a given year, we see a few delayed releases and this year it’s the turn of Jagga Jasoos. The audience is mostly not kind to delayed releases and Ranbir Kapoor has already got a taste of that with the release of Bombay Velvet. Bombay Velvet was Anurag Kashyap’s dream project but it fizzled out just like the dreams of many.

Below is the list of the delayed films with their collections :

1. Ungli

Ungli had a fantastic star cast in Emraan Hashmi, Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut. But, it got delayed due to Sanjay Dutt being jailed and this lead to a delay of 2 years. Film met with a dismal fate and just collected 16.45 crores in its lifetime.

2. Bombay Velvet

Bombay Velvet got a delayed release by about 1 year. Initially, it had to release in 2014 but saw it’s way in May 2015. With Bombay Velvet, Bollywood got it’s Epic Disaster of this decade as it was made on a whopping budget in excess of 80 crores and it could just manage a lifetime collection of 23 crores

3. Rang Rasiya

Rang Rasiya saw a delay close to 6 years. Interestingly, it could not even collect those may crores at the box office which just about tells the story of its fate.

4. Milenge Milenge

Milenge Milenge had started its shooting way back in 2004. However, film saw its release after a gap of 6 years. There were certain issues with the cast which lead to it’s delay but the delay resulted in an old wine in a new bottle. The film’s scenes looked like they were shot way before and Kareena and Shahid were looking too young. Film just about managed 6.5 crores in its lifetime which is a dismal performance.

With Jagga Jasoos arriving very late, will Jagga Jasoos have a dismal fate or we will see a new change in Bollywood? Let’s hope Ranbir Kapoor does not deliver Bombay Velvet 2.
